3 new Zebra, 5 month old Zebras

I get lucky today and find 3 Zebras to buy

Here is photo of those, are thay to young to se if they are male ore femel?

I'm afraid that they are way too youg to sex, I wouldn't even like to try. You'll notice that their fins are not coloured up properly yet which indicates that they are very young.

Good find. Healthy looking fish, you will probaly find they will fatten up a bit now that they are away from their siblings!!

They look like quite a good size for 5 months old, what size are they?

Hi Discusred,

Well done with the latest additions.

Your L no????????????? is a L201 Hypancistrus Inspector. My L201 pregnant female finally laid her eggs ???2 days ago after 3 attempts being trapped.(She left the males cave with a much smaller belly !!!!!) Havent disturbed the male yet, to look at the eggs/possible eggs.There is a picture of the female under Photos/L333.

Just saying that they will prabaly put on weight quite quickly if you have them in a tank away from other young zebras.

Congrats on the find Patrik!

It's sometimes hard to guesstimate the size of fry, but they might be closer to 3cm if they are 5 months old? It would be very interesting to see a chart or something with an overview of expected size at a certain age. Mine are now 7-8 months old and are about 3,5 cm, maybe a bit larger. It would be good to know if this is what's to be expected, or if they're small - maybe I should be feeding them differently...

The breeder i bay the Zebras from, feed most whit Artemia (is that name in English to?)

Artemia is a valid English name for this type of food, but I think brine shrimp is more commonly used? The English members of this fourm should be better qualified to give an answer to this than me though

I made a mistake when I said L102 . It should have been Hypancistrus Inspector L201. Have ammended my post.
