spawn!!!!!

hi all i have good news i have a new spawning as u may no last month i had first spawn but failed
today i have new spawn but it,s not from the young 3 it,s from the 2 new 1,s i got
i split the tank after last spawn so i would,nt interupt young group with a tank divider and to my suprise the 2 new large zeb,s are male and female
only got them on the 4 of last month and presto !!! a spawn hopefully ill have better results this time lights off not going nere them till 18 of this month
in the mean time iv made a pvc spawn tank to sit in the main tank for when there riggles are ready

It is common for many seasonal spawners (wet/dry season types) capable of and ready to spawn to do so when moved to a completely new tank. To them its just like changing seasons. This is especially true if the new tank has softer and cleaner water in it. My bet is the change in params triggered your new ones.

hi all it seems i might have somthing speical going on in the other half of the tank
with the 3 younger 1,s male has trapped female in the back of his cave
fingers crossed
all is well so far with the bigger group nothings been kicked out anyway

sos dad has kicked wrigglers out 8 so far
still got egg sacks iv put them in hatchery in the tank and covered 1 side with filter mat to reduce flow of filters
on them will they be ok

I raised several like that without probs, also lost some...
Guess now only time will tell, nothing more you can do, just make shure there is sufficient flow in the hatcher and keep the hatcher clean.
