I've been browsing this forum for a while and just thought I'd join up. I'm an Australian living in the US, and, as a pleco lover, I can tell you it was a good move (common plecs in Aus run about $125, and that's WHEN you can find them). So anyways, congrats on an awesome forum, it's good to see a bunch of people bringing their heads together to make things easier on the rest of us
Hey valhallan, welcome to the forum. You've got a better chance of getting some zebras in the US and for a much better price than in Aus, it's still going to be difficult due to the ban. At least you will not have to pay $1000(Aus) for each one.
Actually, I think it's almost impossible to get zebras, or any other kind of "fancy" pleco in Aus. I never really looked into it all that much because I was in no position to pay the prices I knew they would be going for. I don't know if there is a government ban on importation in place or something, but I never EVER saw anything other than commons, and I only saw three individuals in about 5 years
