sid...........perfection dont come easy ,but i get by
Hi Matrix99,
I have 8 of them in with my zebbies and sturisomas. They feed on anything I feed them. I alternate between flake food(King British),Tetra Prima, JMC high protein food (with the yellow cover)-fed every day,Sera Spirulina tablets, sera Viformo, mussel approx twice per week and bloodworm maybe once a week. They are out of their hidey holes immediately food is added to the tank.
Two third were captive bred and the rest wild caught but their behaviour is identical and are a lot more active than the zebras. They are now approx 2.5" body length. The pictures on Planet Catfish dont do them justice since they are a lot more yellow in real life.I ordered a couple of L134 from a mail order supplier in Cornwall a few months ago but was sent something stripey which was completely different. I would now rather see what I was buying if at all possible.

Des.
I purchased 5 L134 a few weeks ago and to date, they are eating anything I put in the tank with them. From Mysid shrimp, live blackworms, hikari algae wafers, and just a bit of everything. They are truly stunning fish. Hopefully at some point I'll be able to say I got them to spawn, but for right now, they're still in quarantine
I agree with Barbie they are so beautiful, "Stunning" I like them so much.
Thanks a lot for your responses ! I got this group of 8 two months ago and I was not sure about their diet. I pretty much feed them all kind of food. veggie & meat but not trying to stick much on meat. (Just to be safe). their bellies looks so round .
It will be great to discover a spawn of L134's !
At this moment they still more shy than my zebras.
I read a German article that mentioned how sensitive the L134 fry was to changes in water parametes. (more than usual).
Not sure how many F & M I have I need to check that and set up another tank just for them. more work for this weekend
Hi Matrix99,
Like you I need to find a new tank for the L134, They seem to be squabbling with the zebras for the caves.I feel it might be better for the zebras if they have their own tank. A couple of years ago I was down to 2 tanks. They have now grown to 6.The perks of being a catfish enthusiast.!!!!!!!!

Hi Matrix99,
How large are the ones that you have?.
I am unable to determine males or females with the ones that I have. But I understand that thew males get "Hairy" on their body when they are larger.
Have you read the breeding article on Planet catfish?.
Des
Yes I had read it.
bristles looks longer too like on Zebras plecos.
Mine are around 3.5" (So they are getting there).
Untill now I am going to focus on them. Another tank just got empty so I am going to condition the tank just for them. I will include zebra type caves & also the type of caves they are showing in that article. Feed them a variety of foods. 1/4 meat & 3/4 veggie. time to time I will play with the water parameters. + a looooooooot of patient + pray and will see.
Hi. I have 4. I love em!
They are much more active than my Zebras. I would compare their activity to a Queen Arabasque over a Zebra. They are still a bit shy...the duck for cover when they see me, but mine are still pretty new. You should see the one I have. Male I think. He has the EXACT same head patter as the Zebra! He has the reverse E on his head. I can take a pic, but I have a film camera only and will have to wait for the whole role to be taken. If you guys want me to take a pic, I will....but will be awhile to use up the role. Does anyone else have an L134 with similar markings? Very beautiful body too...instead of lots of broken stripes, his are very thick and repetetive. Maybe I should take a pic. I think he is very unusual. Show fish maybe.
