Breeding Bristlenose is not that rare, but breedind them in a Piranha tank it is a first.
The tank is well planted, the fish are together from when they where juvie and i used also some pleco caves i made....Here are the tiny beauties!!!
Well done Jim, now that is a first. Most people struggle to keep a pleco in their Piranha tank, for algae control, let alone manage to breed them. As you say maybe it's because the fish grew up together, there is also a lot of cover in your tank which helps. I've read so many reports where the resident pleco has been fine for a while but eventually the piranhas have turned on it. By the way that's a great looking tank you have there.
Thanks for your comments Adam.
After having a lot of different spieces of Piranha i have to say that i cannot replicate this with other piranha and this is something that works ONLY for me and for THIS tank.I don't encourage people to do it...because things like the situation you describe might happen....
Here are some today pics...they doubled their size and they started having some dark coloration...
Very pretty tank.. and I can't imagine having piranhas (I think they're banned in my state...or I just don't see them anywhere locally). But I probably coud relate when I had to clean salt water tanks and trigger fish went after me...
Oh! Back to topic!
You have a lot of coverage that and it's amazing how many babies you had... how did you manage to catch them all without tearing up your tank?
Congrats on your babies!

Do you use any products to keep your plants healthy? Just curious.

First of all i have to thank you for your comments!
I manage to retrieve 99,9% of the fry because they were inside a handmade cave which i remove from the tank and take the babies out!
I use a lot of stuff for my plants.Liquid Fertilizer,Tablet Fertilizer,Pressurisez Co2 system (DIY),almost 1 watt per littre lighting.....and more...
Here is a pic taken 30 minutes ago without flash...
That is great....I remove my BN eggs and male and the only thing in the breeding tank are angelfish. It is a bare bottomed tank for growing out angels (they are quite large now). Good thing yours is so well planted as the BN hide well
