Yeahhh, my first spawn

Today I saw my very first hatchlings from my zebra's

I found my male guarding eggs some days ago but couldn't see past him to see if it was really true

The male left the cave when I was doing some maintenance to the tanks. I took a look with a flashlight and saw the eggs at the back of the cave. Scared that an other male or female would eat the eggs I decided to put the eggs in a breeder. Some time later the eggs started to hatch.
One of the fry isn't quite right so I think he will die but the others are doing fine, all together 6 of them. Not bad for a first time attempt

Well things didn't turn out quite as well as I hoped

Yesterday I noticed the fry were slow breaking free of their eggshels. Later last night I checked on them and saw one that had broken free so I kept faith and left the fry to break free on their own. This morning one was dead, he didn't look wright yesterday. To small body, looked premature. The one that had broken free of his shell was slow.... Two more were trying to get out of their shells. Sadly I had no time to help them this morning. Resulting in more dead fry this afternoon

The last two fry were stuck also but still alive! So no time to waist and I started to help them get free. So I still have two who look fine for now but I don't know how damaged they are from me helping them..... Fingers crossed, I did the best I could

sorry for the bad news
look on the bright side there spawning now !
i lost my first spawn most ppl do
but 4 weeks later mine spawned again and all was well

More confident today that the 2 baby's left will survive. They made it true the night and are still fine this afternoon
