Is it wise to try to trigger spawn, say every month? Wouldn't it be exhausting for both male and female, or would they regulate the spawning interval themselves, depending on if they "feel up to it" or not?
Reason I ask is that I've read about Ancistrus the spawned themselves to death. Not that it would be any immidiate danger of this happening to mine, but still
Should'nt they be left to get a break once in a while? What do you think?
From the little experience I have had with zebras. The male that spawned quite frequently, Once every 3 to 4 weeks has taken a break. He is nolonger in the cave but roaming around. So in my case he did this voluntarily. Is this normal, I don't know.
