after waiting for a couple week, now i saw a little one came out from the cave. it's really small and hungry. so i put a couple sinking wafer to the tank. i hope the little one find the way to get it.
now should i find something to cover the filter? i worry that they(i saw only one but hope there are more) will be sucked out because their lack of experience. and should i remove the other pleco like snowball or panaque? the snow ball is around 4 inches and his mouth is biger than the size of the fry. will he eat them?
any other suggestion would be nice. this is some photos i took from my mobilephone. i wish i have a nice camera. have to buy one.
Personally I only keep breeding zebras and their fry in a species tank.
Zebra fry are expert hiders and will ssek out spaces too small for almost anything besides other fry to fit in. They also tend to stay together in bunches until they gain some decent size.
Do sponge all intakes, which also means you need to rinse the intake sponges weekly.
Good Luck with them C
What makes the common person uncommon is common sense.
A very BIG CONGRATS And TT, John I had a corner-tank esp. for these cute little guys. Was a little concerned that they weren't getting enough food and so moved them!
another update, the female zeb trap in the male cave again. the same one that got the spawn. however, there are some frys inside and that male doesn't come out for the food yet for more than 20 days already
i hope he doesn't pass out if there are some new spawn again.
i saw another group of eggs inside male's cave. hope most of them survive this time. (last time, the first spawn, i think only one survive)
i wonder how to take a good care of them? do i need to seperate them out from male's cave? i never see any fries come out for any food at all time. i hope this is not the reason they can't survive.
crunch tetra bit seem to disappear every time i put it into the tank.
how this little fry survive in the real world? can they bite some out from a normal size tetra bit?

Really makes you wonder doesn't it Apparently there's a freshwater sponge growing in Rio Xingu that they graze on It doesn't move, so no need to chase it
