So, my first zebra tank is getting ready! There are still all the breeding caves missing, and I´m going to move some of the Echinodorus to another tank. Maybe I also add some wood later, what do you think?
I feel there´s still so much to do to make the tank look good. The tank itself has 120 litres and it´s one meter long. I´m going to pick up my 4 zebras next saturday.
Looks great! But is there enougth water movement and filteration? As the plants don't look like they are being blown around much and Zebras like alot of water movement.
I switched everything of while taking pictures. Right now there´s only one Hydor doing the filtration, I´ll probably change it to Eheim 2048 (or just add it and also leave the Hydor to the tank). Also there´s 1-2 Eheim Powerheads or Eheim compact 1000 coming.
yes i agree, very nice tank. but nice does not mean suitable for the plecos. i think you need more oxygen in it and i would dimm the lights a bit. do you use a reclector ?
Zebs spent their first night in their new home, and in the morning everything seems to be fine! Today I´m adding the caves, yesterday I was too tired to do that when I finally arrived back home.
I wouldn´t worry about the oxygen-level in the tank, as I think that Hydor is doing a great job. Some more filtration and current i definitelly needed.
This is the best pic I managed to get last night as I didn´t want to disturb them too long. Any suggestions, male or female? That one is an adult. I got 2 of them and 2 one-year-old.
Sounds great! Thanks to Hara, they were all in great condition. The 1st zeb (pic nr 1.) and the second zeb (pic nr 3.) are the adult ones, wild cought (they are both in the picture nr 2.).
Here´s another of the one-year-old one´s:
