So one of my Zebras is ballooning up like crazy. I'm sure it's not illness - it's still lookin' fine and eatin' like a hog. I'd upped water changes a lil' on their tank so I vaguely hope that it might be that this one is female and becoming gravid in response.
It kinda almost looks like it's becoming a Weeble The underside is visibly lifting the body up from the bottom of the tank.
Does anyone have any good pics of a gravid female from below and from the side? Or does this sound like a gravid female?
Males also tend to store up reserves before spawning season in order to allow them to stay all that time with the eggs without coming out to eat and what not. Here's a pic of my dominant male a month or two before they started spawning the first time.
The females will look more round behind the pectoral fins, but have the same weeblish underline.
