The lights are dimmed, the fire is blazing in the big old fireplace, your favourite tunes are on in the background, and I'm just about to pour you a big glass of red!!! Let's settle down on the big old leather sofa and have a chat!!
My husband and I just visited the new $200 million GA Aquarium here in the states. OMG it’s the best aquarium we've seen to date. They say its the world's largest aquarium with over 800 million gallons of fresh and marine water tanks. We were there for over six hours. We must have looked like this
They had marine, fresh water tropical, cold water tanks and more. The two whale sharks are impressive. At the end of two of their exhibits they have auditorium style seating with large viewing windows so you can rest and take it all in.
If anyone gets a chance to visit Atlanta, take the time to go there. If not try the website:
Ok, they are not the best photos in the world but how steady can you hold a camera with a hammerhead shark swimming toward you?
I'm just glad I didn't freak out like the girl dressed as a seal in the polar bear video. http://www.youtube.com/w/Polar-Bear-%3E ... g%20musume
I went for spring break and I thought they were lacking somewhat in the freshwater . I also took the behind the scenes tour (its $50) And I was allowed to see the big tank from the top and It is the size of a football field . I also like the large reef tank the had.
Yes, the freshwater exhibit needs more work. The discus were dark and their fins were clamped. I have better looking discus here at the house. The otters were fun to watch though. Did you look up? The ceiling is also a tank with critters. I noticed most people didn’t know to look up. They really need to push that feature more. I understand as time goes on they will add more to it. I heard they had some fish loss trying to get everything set up and cycled.
The main attraction is the marine tank with the two whale sharks. The cold water tank area was fun to watch with the beluga whales. I can't imagine the work involved in an aquarium that has five aquariums to explore ranging from freshwater to marine and cold to tropical water eco-systems.
It's everything I can to just to take care of the 15 little tanks I have here at the house.
I'm sorry you were disappointed in the freshwater area but hope you enjoyed the tour. I'm glad you liked the large reef tank.
somone on the dwarf puffer forum went there to he said they had a huge puffer
i went to a zoo once and dad had a DR pepper (soda) and the otters were following it around when he moved it on the glass, but then we tried with a coke and they didnt follow it
