I personally dont hink you have too much plants !! I have a 45 gal tank that i have been kind of tring to get my zebras to breed ...but nothing!!! So i purchased a HUGE amazon sword plant at the LFS that was selling for cheap! It was so nice but too big for my tank! I threw it in the 45 gal zebra tank laying down still in the pot and a week later both male and female were in the cave for the first time!!! The tank looks so bad but i guess it didnt bother them! So my answer IMO is no you r plants are just fine!
Is it better to make new caves or it's ok to use these. My zebra is about 2.5 inches. Also from what you see do you think it's a male or female. Normally it doesn't spend much time in the caves mostly on the driftwood.
Nice start! What's the dish for; is that his food bowl?
Is there a canister filter in there? How big is this tank?
Just a couple of suggestions-
* Organize the tank a little better, give them as much space as possible. Thus try keep the driftwood eith verticle or more to the sides.
* Slope the substrate; highest being towards the rear and lowest being towards the front. That gives the tank a sense of depth.
