Re: what food is best for zebera plecs ??

I also use a lot of kens other foods like Veggie sticks with calcium and earthworm sticks. He has a great selection, great prices and has been very reliable even for me way u...

Re: Algae

I also breed Bristle nose and keep a few in my large Zebra tank for just that reason. They do not bother anybody and keep my 108gallon spotless. They stay 4" or less too. :)

Hi Fern; I`m sure glad you are active on this site, I wish there was more traffic. Is it possible that your female has spawned in a place you can`t seeÉ Also are you sure you have a mature maleÉ I hope you have some luck and produce your first batch. I think My 7 wild Zebras are imature still. They ...

Re: spawn on glass

I use a product called Golden Pearls from Kensfish.com. It is as good as newly hatched brine shrimp and they are a good reputable supplier that is worth a look. Brine shrimp are always a goog choice too. They stay alive and in suspention for a few hrs too. Shrimp are almost total protien and ...

Re: any tips on how to lower ph natural in a tank ??

7.5 is not bad at all. What is your hardness likeÉ The safest way I know to lower ph is with an external filter full of Peatmoss. You will also get a tea color too.

Water to soft.

I know I should not complain but my tap water is to soft. From tap it is 6.5 ph and no readable carbinates at all. Very close to rain water and does not change over the seasons. I would like to know what others do to bring UP the hardness. :?:

Re: Algae

Hey Fluffy. Love the name too. I don't agree with the no no crowds on cohabitation. I keep a few small Bristle nose and 7 Farowellas with my 7 Zebras in a 135 gallon. Bristlenose are good but The farowellas are Better by far. I also include plants in all my tanks and the Fs are always busy and very ...

Re: any pics of what a pregnant female zebra looks like?

Mine is about the same. They are in a 30g tank so I am thinking of doing 5-10 gallons of RO water a tad cooler than the tank water and during a thunder storm. I have tried all sorts of trick with these guys! I have even used a watering can to put in new water after a water change so its more like r...
