i want to do some research on male, female ratio as i always here that for some reasons there are less females than male in captivity.
therefor i am setting up a poll plus you can also answer in details togheter with the poll.

Tariq,

Last year when I was buying some zebras, on average I saw slightly more males than females in the shops. The poll would be biased if we intentionally picked out more females than males, as I did.
The bias towards males could be due to the catching method. I have heard and seen on the telly, that Bamboo tubes are sunk and then retrieved later to catch catfish, but dont know whether this applies to the Zebra. Since males prefer to hide in caves, this may be one reason. Sojapat or Kev, who were in the Xingu last year, might be able to confirm the catching method.
