Hi Rdwh,

We were informed that the L046 were put on the Red list in Brazil late last year, therefore preventing exports of both wild and "captive bred". Has this ban now been lifted ?.

Des.

Hi Everyone.

I have been receiving a fair number of PM's and e-mails asking about this advertisement. SO I have spoken to the people personally over the phone to find out excatly what is happeneing. I , as well as a great deal of others have had certain concerns, especially about the 50% deposit.

To clarify I have had this response from Richard:
just to confirm the conversation with ricky today to put you and others minds at ease, will be paid for ( using some of the 50% deposits ) if the fish are doa, or diseased they will not be paid for.in these cases the money will be refunded to all who have paid. there is no risk to any person paying with the exception if they want the fish being sent overnight-which i cant see happening as these fish are that precious and sought after that that i would expect all to collect anyway.
i can understand that a lot of people are hesitant in parting with hard earned money, i would be.
at the end of the day, we are just giving people the chance to get hold of these fish without being ripped off.
if the delivery does not take place, at least we know that we have tried.
ricky has spoken to all concerned personally who would like to buy one, and has stated that, if we get them we get them, if we dont we dont.
Obviously I cannot comment either way on the authenticity of the actual supplier as I am unaware as to where they are coming from, and whether or not the import will take place. I have been assured however if the import does not go to plan...everyone will be refunded. As far as I can see it is not in Ricky's or Richards best interests to rip anyone off at this stage of their business.

I hope this clarifies the situation. I also hope all goes to plan, and if the fish are imported it is done so responsibley without any extra undue stress to the fish.

Hopefully in a few years time, we will not be stuck with this dilema. Over the past few months the number, (Even on this forum), of fish bred in captivity has been increasing. It will take at least 1 -2 years from now, before any F2's will arrive on the market. Then we will hopefully be able to satisfy the demand both private and retail without removing the fish from the wild.

This may be a bit of a pipe-dream, but I certainly think it is worth aiming for. There are two many positive points to supply captive bred fish, and too many negative points for removing fish from the wild.

I will get off my soap box now, and wish everyone the best of luck.

Rob

the ban on Zebra's has not been lifted, it's not going to be for atleast 2 year's.

L236 are available, but not sure on the L250. i dont think any L250 would be sent here anyway cos the shipper's know that they can get a better price in Japan, so all the best fish are going there :( .

ZEBRAS ARE PROHIBITED FOR A GOOD REASON >
THEY ARE HARD TO GET IN THE WILD NOW >>>
LEAVE THEM TO RECOVER ....
I WAS IN ALTIMIRA IN OCTOBER <
Along with another member of this site Kev ..
