I picked this fish up yesterday and from underneath it looks like a possible female..do any of u agree

I'm not too sure.... It has the underlying signs of a female but not the plumpness... feed it up for a few weeks and see if 'she' bulks out

males get fat too
but like you say - with the pointier head and more hairs its more likely to be male...
this one has what looks like less hair, thinner pectoral rays and a blunter head... if it was plump I'd be fairly happy saying female...
Its all guess work anyway!
