Have i finally got a female????

We all know how difficult it is to identify the sex of these fish, so please post a picture in here and we'll try to help you (or at least give an educated guess!).

thats better ;)

I'm not too sure.... It has the underlying signs of a female but not the plumpness... feed it up for a few weeks and see if 'she' bulks out :)

Smithrc, are you saying that only females get big and bulky? I have 3 large males(?) I think, they all have the characteristics of a male arrow head shape & hairy....but one is very plumpy/bulk/fat!...thanks

males get fat too :)

but like you say - with the pointier head and more hairs its more likely to be male...

this one has what looks like less hair, thinner pectoral rays and a blunter head... if it was plump I'd be fairly happy saying female...

Its all guess work anyway!
