L333
To be honest, it's hard to guesstimate the count in there. I'm calling it 30ish for now. Ask me again in a couple weeks . Dad tends to do the hippy hippy shake and keep me from really getting a good count every time I've tried so far . There are LOTS of them though!

There were 28 fry from the spawn. I ended up taking them a bit earlier than I planned. One escaped and I got it caught and moved, but the next day the one that escaped was promptly killed by the P. taeniatus "moliwe" in the tank. My fish REALLY should understand that killing plecos gets you grounded! I meanl, I CAN just bag them up and take them to the store at a moments notice :p

Ummm, I'll work on that. I sort of killed all but 3 doing a rainy season water change on the tank for the zebras *sigh*. The 3 left are maturing well and very interestingly patterned. The male is back on a second spawn already, from the same female, so I hope to detail their development this time. I was pretty depressed, but at least now I know that while the L260 and the L46 handle the cold and shift in TDS, the L333 certainly did not.

Well doo doo occurs and all that, but there's nothing like pulling 25 little dead babies out of a tank to make you feel about an inch tall. It was not a bright and shining moment, that's for sure! Right up there with the time I thought the zebra fry had gotten big enough to start on blood worms to discover nope, they weren't big enough *sigh*. It does happen. All you can do is make a note of it and don't do it again!
So everyone make a note, while L46 and L260 have never had problems, L333 that still had a bit of yolk dropped like flies, ok?

I agree with what barbie is saying. Recently, had my L66 spawn in the main community tank. Moved the cave, dad and babies into a 10gallon with 100% tank water with old filter material from main tank. Next day the babies were dying left and right. Ended up losing all babies. Only thing different was I rose the temp from 82 to 85. No Amonia, no nitrite, and same pH.
I only have pictures of the male in with the fry in his cave, at this point. That male is rarely out unless I've run him out! Mine are very black and white, and HUGE compared to my L260. I'll try to get some more pictures. The pair has spawned AGAIN for the 4th time in less than 3 months. I have lowered the temperature and I'm going to remove the other fish from the tank and let him release them, with minimal water changes this time. Wish me luck!
