I was just looking at planetcatfish website at the lnumbers and came across L098.
Says its a zebra plec
I dont understand
Re: I dont understand
I believe it's the same species as L46 or it could be a sub-species which might explain the wavy lines. It is still not clear. Using L#'s is just a tag the taxonomists use until they can finally describe the species, don't be surprised if some species have more than one number/tag.Pablos wrote:I was just looking at planetcatfish website at the lnumbers and came across L098.

Hypancistrus Zebra has been scientifically described, so the L# should'nt apply to to this fish any longer, but it's hard to get rid of once people get used to it.
L98 is a color variety of the H. Zebra. I've seen both wavy and spotted F1's in my tanks, coming from "ordinary" Zebras. I've also seen circles, broken lines, 2 lines along the side, 1, 3.... It seems to me that every Zebra has it's own "fingerprint" when looking at the lines.
