Sexing L316 Jari Zebra Pleco

We all know how difficult it is to identify the sex of these fish, so please post a picture in here and we'll try to help you (or at least give an educated guess!).

I think you've got L400 there
Can't confirm a pair, altough #2 is a male and #1 could be female

Miezekatze, can you post a photo of an L400 from the side if you have one.
i have 30 of these that have come in as L316's and i would really help me to see a decent pic of an L400. my aqualog runs out at about L350

thanks

Marcus,

Have a look on L-Welse.Com. It is a German site but has some excellent photos.

you can not define a L400 or L399 by stripe pattern like you define a zeb because every specimen of those species is differently patterned

Anyone care to translate this line for me...

"Besonderes: L 400 mit viel Weissanteil im Zeichnungsmuster werden von findigen Händlern bewusst oder unbewusst oftmals als Hypancistrus sp. "L 236" oder "L 250" angeboten."

translation tools are all well and good but it still makes no sence to me :)
