Catfish Convension 2006

For those of you on the east coast U.S. What do you think the chances are they will have some zebs? I would be driving home a happy man!

It's about three hours for me.
I imagine there'll be some zeebs, but I'm not driving three hours to fight over 'em.

They may or may not be. I know our local cichlid association has a fish swap meet several times a year, which includes catfishes and other fish, not only cichlids. I had heard that a breeder brought in 20 juveniles zebras for the swap meet one time and were already gone after about 5 minutes of the doors just opening.

I hate bring up a sore subject, but my LFS had an L134 entered into a contest at the show last year. It won first prize but then got stolen right off the table. Nothing but a trail of water drips. Ouch!

lol... I was thinking of showing my alpha male zebra... that is what I was afraid of could/might happen. I guess no show for my male zebs.

Just make sure you have at least 2 people at the show, with one or the other right next to the tank next to the fish and to cover the tank. Also tie a string to the bell and secure it to the lid. Make sure the bell is in your side. This way, any access to the lid will ring the bell.

or superglue the lid down since the f**kers won't likely have tools handy to remove a superglued lid...

Hey I don’t want someone not to show his or her prize fish just because of this. It would be best to check with the source for the whole story. If you would like to contact them about the incident they are a sponsor of the show. Cozy Clownfish is the name of the store.

I'm going to be going to the Convention, but I don't think I'm taking any zebras. I can't carry them on with me, so it would just be like shipping them to myself to add to their expense. Can't see it working out well

Are you unable to have a discussion without insults or expletives? I don't think it will kill you to have to leave them out of the messages you type here on the board. So many people manage it with no problem at all. The tone of the discussion on the board here goes south very quickly with just a few posts like those. We've learned that from past experience. Hence, the warning that you're treading where you don't want to be.

I won't be wearing a zebrapleco.com shirt, no, since I don't actually own one, hehe, but my picture is on the convention site under the lori discussion speakers. I shouldn't be too hard to spot, so definitely come up and introduce yourself please!
