Help needed to sex new fish

Post by Frontyking »

Hi guys, I hope all is well.

I just acquired 6 adult Zebras (YEEHAAAAA!!!!!!) and need help sexing them. I'm confident of 2 fish being males but not too sure on the rest. Any feedback is much appreciated.

I think 1 and 6 are possibly females, others are males.

Thanks for your replies guys,

By the way I forgot to mention sizes of the Zebs.

Numbers 1, 4, 5, and 6 are all 6-7cm and numbers 2 and 3 are 8-10cm.

Cheers,

Nick.

I can see 1 females, nr3, (nr 2 and 3 looks like they have a bit of underdeveloped fins..? Are they F1's..?) and they're all in what looks like very good condition.

Zeb 5 looks like he's the man ;)

hmmmm zeb 2 looks like a hairy female , but my giess is that you'll soon find out by behaviour :) Who's occupying the caves, and who's hiding amongst the rocks and roots?

Thanks for your input guys.

McEve, Zeb 2 and Zeb 3 are F1's from what I was told and are the only 2 that occupy the three caves I have in their tank. Is it a bad thing that they have underdeveloped fins? Will they eventually develop so to speak?
Zebs 1,4,5, and 6 can be found anywhere in the tank and usually amongst rocks and roots and behind filter intakes.

Cheers,

Nick.
