URGENT! female showing interest in Smaller Male. Move Alpha?

Post by denoc »

Hello all
i have a gravid Female showing interest in Smaller Male. They spent over 24 hours in cave.. Small male didnt trap her. she desperatly tried for 24 to get by him, however the Alpha male has now removed smaller males from his cave . Female seems not interested in him and has rejoined the group . Should I reMove The Alpha? so the smaller male can take up his cave again? as she is showing interestin other male?? All the fish are at least 3- 4 years old.
none of them have bred before?

thanks

If you remove him you may have a shift in dominance hierarchy that can actually slow things down, but if they've been together for more than a few months without a spawn it might work out alright in the end.
