Well the way I read it it must be for the lot as he doesn't specify otherwise - I emailed him asking for clarifications, I will let you know what he says.
When a Buy it now auction states that tehre are "~ available" this enables the buyer to choose how many they want at that price, i.e if you were to buy 2 it would cost you 400. It iwll automatically calculate the new buy it now price.
