EXCELLENT AND SUPPORTIVE SELLER

Post by Caesars »

It is, regrettably, usually the case that we discuss transactions to share bad experiences and protect other zebra pleco lovers from bad sellers. Well, here is a nice change: I had a really positive experience today and I want to share it with you.
3-4 days ago I bid on ebay and won 5 zebra plecs for £595. I was the only bidder. The seller (bluectriscal) had also indicated on the sales info that he had up to 50 for sale. As a friend was interested in 2 I asked if I could have 7 and he agreed. I won the bid (being the only bidder) and then Imer, the seller, emailed me with details of postage indicating I would get a discount if I wanted 10 (half the postage price as Lufthansa had an offer on). So I agreed. As I said to Plastic Mac in another post I was feeling safe as I would be using paypal. When, however, I called them to confirm, they said they wouldn't cover the transaction!!! I was horrified - I was about to sent £1200 and was covered for £112! I immediately contacted ebay but got no joy! They only thing they said is that I had to part with the cash, or agree with the seller to cancel the transaction, or .. or.. or..
Anyway, I contacted Imer to explain what happened and to ask if there was a chance to pay on delivery as I really didnt want to part with that much money without any security. What does the guy do? Upon receiving my email, WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, he emails me with a consignment number for the fish. Next day I got a call from Lufthansa to confirm acceptance of delivery and today at 2.30 I picked the fish up.
All 10 fish are very healthy, in excellent condition, well fed and despite their long journey arrived with excellent colours too.
I will be posting some pictures later here - but tell you what guys - I am really happy I went on with the transaction.
Oh, I forgot to add, the guy is an excellent communicator and very very polite. I am really impressed!

That's so nice to hear! It would be very uncomfortable for the decent people in Germany what Dieter did, so it's good to hear stories like this!

Did you give him a hint of our forum? :D I bet he would be very pleased to see that he's getting a good reputation! Hmmm I think I'll have to look closer on what's on offer on Ebay!

edit

Oh yes, silly me, I see he posted in your other thread. I'm not quite with it yet ;)

Yes I did! I thought since he has another 40 he may want to post here, and I certainly saw some people here wanting some. Its really tough to want to buy some fish and not do it because you are scared you are gonna be ripped off by a swindler! This guy was very reasonable and I am sure people will find it a pleasure to deal with him. I will most certainly happily deal with him again.

And here are some pics of my new jewels, in the acclimatization box tank and in the main tank. Enjoy them! :D

Hi fishboy, thanks. No, they are not my first zebras. I have another 4 -the only problem is while I thought two were female they got veeeeeeeeeeery hairy lately. I want to try breed them but I think these ones will take 1-2 years to mature. I posted a new thread
