That's a very nice looking male you have there Mindy.

I wonder if anyone has noticed that the odontode growth of Alpha males appears to be more pronounced than that of non-dominant males. Mindy's zebra shows this quite well and I have also noticed this amongst my own zebras. I have read that odontode growth of Panaques is dependant on things such as water conditions, sexual maturity and dominance. It would be interesting to know if this also applies to zebras.

how big is this male Mindy? Do youknow how old is it also?

He's around 3.5", with a very stocky head. I have no idea how old he is. The LFS where he came from got him from one of their suppliers who SAID he was wild caught. However, despite being such a big specimen, he was one of the least expensive Zebs to date. A steal at £75!

So really, I have no idea about his age, background, etc. All I know is he's a big boy... and seems to know how to do his business!
