I am going to breed the dogs. My females are still to young yet. I dont care much for the reds either. All of mine are blue. We also call them Heelers here. Its just not there AKC name.
Who Is Everyone?
I've loved seeing everyone's pics! I don't have too much of a story to tell, raised in Oregon, move to Los Angeles as a teenager and went a bit overboard if you know what I mean. Finally settled down and found a Texas man, didn't work out but I stayed in Texas because Austin is a great city and I was loving my job at Dell Computer as a Recruiter. Met my future husband there. Then transferred on to many odd jobs, manager of a software test group for Yahoo/SBC, Nordstrom Communitcations, and most recently the toughest job yet....full time mommy. Oh ya, and way back between my last California days and my first few years in Texas I was vet tech surgery assit. Anyone interested in checking out the family website filled with cat and baby pics can go to htttp://www.suspiciousfish.com .
And here is a pic that is a couple months old...me and Baby Cate

The perfect white lie..."Of course I didn't pay that much for the fish honey"
Pleased to meet you zcat! You and your daughter look so happy together, your picture is one of those that gives me a large smile and a nice feeling in the heart
And your cats Rob! LOL I can hear the PUURRRRRRR all the way here! Nothing and nobody can look so pleased as a pleased cat
Well... baby Cate looks pretty pleased too though, she's adorable

Nice to meet you and Cate zcat
. Cate certainly is a little cuttie, makes me want to have another one. Now where did I leave the Mrs?
I too had a peak at you website, those Servals are fantastic love to get one but the kids and cat would probably get eaten. What sort of temperament do they have?
A bit off topic zcat but do you know of anyone in the US that has the Tuxedo, Peacock and snakeskin wild Endler variants? Do Armando Pou and Adrian HD ship their Endlers internationally?
Hey Rob that's a right pair of pampered kitties you have there, great picture by the way
. If I so much as point my camera at my cat she legs it. Any problems with your cats and the fish? My one just can't leave the community tank alone, she's forever jumping up and trying to catch the fish. I don't think she quite understands the concept of glass, her latest one is sitting on top of the tank. I guess she likes the heat from the lights. Luckily she leaves the zebra tanks alone she probably thinks there's no fish in there, so do a lot of visitors
.

Hey Ken,
Check out this link for Adrian HD:
http://swampriveraquatics.com/_wsn/page3.html
Armandou Pou seems to be the single person most responsible for bringing in the new naturally occuring Endler variants from Venezuela.
Adrian HD is a breeder using Armando's wild stock, he seems to have a good spread of varieties and sells on Aqua bid now and then. He also sells both males and females which is pretty handy
.
I would be really interested to know how you get on, I don't think he ships internationally so I'm pretty much stuffed

There's an Endler forum if you're interested. http://www.endlersrus.com I know there are a lot of American Endler enthusiasts on there. You might find someone in your area(ish) that has some stock you can get, or maybe just babies, etc.
I don't think I have ever seen two more content cats. What loves they are! If I tried to pick my guys up and flip them over I'd end up with a few scratches for sure!
I think the really large cat you are referring to is the Serval. That would be my cats Daddy. My fur kids are larger than your average housecat but not enormous

Hey Ken
Definately check out the EndlerRUs link from Mindy. It's a forum I belong to as well. I personally have, snakeskin, black bar, peacock, and wild black tuxedos along with a couple orange variants.
I have ordered from both Guy at EndlersRUs and Adrian and I give both of them high compliments. They are honest and reputable and the fish arrive in great condition. They always include females. In fact if you want any females or fry just take a day trip over to Austin and I'd be happy to set you up with a handful

I've found some snakeskin endlers locally in Texas, US. But I've yet to see the other variants. Only problem is they're all males.

Hey Skye,
Some say that Endlers are a totally different species others maintain that it's just a regional variation. They can interbreed with guppies so they are obviously very closely related. Here's a link with some more info:

interesting... we sell those at our store and call them Lyretail guppies. (Dr. Endler would have a cow!) theyre not true lyretail, though... just see-through between the color on the tail edges. truly lovely little things... however, we only ever get males. never see a female of the same variety... i wonder why that is..
thanks Adam. Cheers!
thanks Adam. Cheers!
The reason you don't see females is that if breeders were to let them go as well everyone would start breeding them and that would be the end of their business. It's a monopoly of sorts, if I keep all the females I'm the only one that can breed them, get my drift. This sort of practice is very common amongst live bearer breeders, it took me ages to find females for my Endler males.
