Check with companies locally that sell wall slate. I use a wholesale place here in town called DAL Tile. They have 1/4" natural slate in a wide array of colors. It's not necessarily cheap, but you can make 3 caves from each tile.

Is that the stuff with the machined back Barbie? I've looked around at quite a few places and found some similar to what you're talking about, but it's all been prepped for floor/wall installation.

Nope, mine's just plain old nekkid slate, just thin. Look for wholesale tile distributors near you and go look through their show room. I was really astounded at the selection after going to the local Lowes, Home Depot and the like!

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely look into it some more. I have visited a couple of showrooms and none of them had plain slate tile, I'll have to see if they can get it in.
