Saw this advert on Planet Catfish ,contacted the person about the possibility of buying some of the fish.

I was deluged with complaints when this person started posting at Planet Catfish. Please make sure you cover your rear end in business dealings with him unless you are given references and what not to check into. I have never personally dealt with him. Just passing on a friendly warning ;).

Has anyone actually bought from this man as yet?

I see he has posted a few messages on a few boards. Personaaly I owuld jump at the chance if it is true.

I have sent him an e-mail, so here's hoping!!

Andrew, the quote of 2800 euro's was that just for the 14 adults...or did it include the fry? I see he was selling the same adults at 2500 about a month ago.

Something else that seems a little funny, is he edited his post to include more fish a couple of days after originally posting it. It now reads that he has 90 zebs for sale, before it was only 60.

Hmm this is a little strange as he had 13 fish for sale at 2500, previosuly as his "Cultivation group". That must be a mighty special female to be worth 300 euros

Darn.....I got myself all hyped up about this one!!!! :cry: :cry: I even told my wife I would sell my MG Midget!!! :cry: :cry:

From previous experience, the deal sounds dodgy and also from the comments so far, i would steer clear of it.

At least, then you can keep your car :D

Hi I've jjust an an e-mail from the guy, he now has 14 adults and I quote
"I have 180 pieces of cultivation group.I have 75 pieces males 105 pieces female."

The cultivation group are 3.5cm long, I think this guy must be an absolute specialist if he can sex these fish at this size.!!!!! :? :?

I think we have our first major scammer!!!!

I dealt with this guy a while back, here is the reply I received from him:

Hi Adam,

I several of L236 and L250.I try to cultivate this one.I send you pictures of mean L250 and L236.L250 costs a 1200.-eur and L236 800.-eur.

My cousin also made an enquiry about L250/L236 and was quoted a totally different price, personally I would avoid this guy. His user name on Planet Catfish is Zebrazucht.

Looks to me like everyone and their dog is trying to cash in on the zebra shortage. I hope nobody gives this guy any money. :evil:

Just received another e-mail
I sell only 14 pieces adult and 76 pieces small. I have at small the sex not given and I cannot recognize either.

In addition, I have even another 180 pieces arisen the 7-9 cm are.

I have imported 400 piece L46 around 2 years ago.
Strange thing is that I found an add he placed on a german forum asking to BUY L46 about 1 month agao.

OOOOhhhhhh...I'm not one to gossip!!

From Germany...hummmn, must be Dietmar's cousin. If it sounds too good to be true,..it usually is. Has he provided anybody any pictures of his own "cultivation" fish? The only way I would risk it is if I could pick them up in person.
