Moonlights?

Pretty much explains itself really. If you have questions about tank set-ups, tank furniture, (caves etc) chuck them in here!

Moonlights?

Post by zcat »

Does anyone use them? Given that these are shy mostly nocturnal creatures I wonder if a moonlight would allow us to view their nocturnal habits without disturbing them.

Whatcha think?

Here are a couple links. There seem to be expensive set-ups as well as small compact jobies.

I don't know of anyone here who uses them then again maybe someone does and it just hasn't come up in conversation. That could work once the zebras become accustomed to it. Personally I would go for fewer of the LEDs as zebras come from fairly deep waters and I doubt that much moonlight filters down to their level. Worth a try I guess if you don't mind spending the money.

This is one of the things I've looked into also, but haven't really found the right soution for yet. I might go ahead trying this when I do. There's not much daylight where they live either, so it might be too bright for them with normal light on 10 hours a day. They seem to get used to it though :)
