Hi all,
I originally thought this was a reversed stripe zebra when I first got it in. I have at least 2 of these...maybe 3. Barbie and Kkorotev (2 good fish friends) were quick to point out, that it's just wider/darker stripes, on the same pattern.
Hi ,
Barbie and Kevin are right.
I too have some zebras with wider black stripes. But prefer the ones with narrow black stripes, like the one on the front page of planet catfish.
Regards,
Des
Here it is, looks like they come in all shapes and forms regarding patterns. I prefer something in between, I think there's a bit too much white on this one.
But they are all beautiful in their own way.
I kinda liked the "pirate look" the one with very broad stripes have
Nice picture.
I have to agree with you, about "too much white".
They are all special, but look pretty when the black and white stripes are about equal in width.
Thin lines, fat lines, wavy lines, broken lines, I seem to have them all. I've chosen zebras like this intentionally where I could, not so much choice left these days. My thinking is that this can only be a good thing from a genetics point of view when it comes to breeding them, bigger gene pool.
They're all beautiful in their own way. I find this variation to be one of the things that makes them so special, you can identify each individual by their pattern - how many other fish can you do that with?
And you're not having her Tristan, nice try though
Thought it might be worth a go, obviously not , still i would like to see my zebras in order to identify them, i occasionally see a tail sticking out from a cave and that is it!!! Most frustrating
