Why are most sales in Europe or for PU
I have been looking for 2 zebra young. Why are most of the sales in Europe or pick up only? I would like to buy two zebra's for the fun of watching them grow. I guess I am odd I like the mating behavior more than I like the fry. In my tank fry are protein if meant to survive they will. I really don't want to over populate or breed a sister to a brother. Besides it takes a couple of years for them to breed. Please help me find to Zebra's
I know that I personally only sell fry to people that are going to make a genuine effort to spawn them. The gene pool is limited already and these fish could very possibly be lost from the hobby forever without effort on our parts. In my opinion, it would be a waste to just "keep" them rather than perpetuate them. Good luck in your search for fry. Hopefully you'll be able to find someone that's not as narrow minded about their continuation as I am.

Answering the PU-only issue is easy enough. Sending any animal you care for with airplanes, trains, buses or whatever where you feel there is no control with the wellfare of the animals, do not feel good. The journey itself may kill it, and in addition you have customs, insecurities about packaging. Some places its not even allowed to bring fish over borders without quarantene. PU is a lot easier for the seller.
As for Europe, its difficult to speculate. I have seen people in the US selling here, so you just have to wait. Its not easy to get zebras in any part of the world. Especially not breeders. Have patience
Good luck! We'd like to see more success stories
