I picked this fish up yesterday and from underneath it looks like a possible female..do any of u agree

Smithrc, are you saying that only females get big and bulky? I have 3 large males(?) I think, they all have the characteristics of a male arrow head shape & hairy....but one is very plumpy/bulk/fat!...thanks

males get fat too
but like you say - with the pointier head and more hairs its more likely to be male...
this one has what looks like less hair, thinner pectoral rays and a blunter head... if it was plump I'd be fairly happy saying female...
Its all guess work anyway!
