Any chance of sexing this one?

We all know how difficult it is to identify the sex of these fish, so please post a picture in here and we'll try to help you (or at least give an educated guess!).

Post by andrewcoxon »

hi guys,

i bought 2 of these fish when they we're 1 year old. they are 2 in april and about 5-6cm long. are they too small or can someone hazard a guess at this size?

cheers,

andy

p.s i could only catch this one for a photo! the other was too fast so il do this one first.

i would probably say that it is still to young to sex accurately. But if i were to hazard a guess i would say female, buy the way the side of its head flicks just before the pectorals with no signs of any hairs of a notible size. Pectorals are quite curvy too. I really wouldnt take my word for it though as it is quite difficult to say at this stage.
