Slate caves
I was just wondering if anyone knows where i can get some pre built slate caves from. I would also like to have a go at building a couple of my own as i have all the tools required. Could anyone tell me the best dimensions for a zeb cave to be.
Cheers

My Caves In Action
These are the caves I make, a number of local breeders of L333's and L046 use them with great success, my L333's seem to like them too (theres always 1 male fanning eggs)
£5 a pop, postage is dependant on weight. 1 zeb cave and packaging is ~800grams, if you go to Royalmail.com you can check out different postage options and prices.
Regards

I can quote my own experience -
8 L333's (4M/4F)
7 caves
1 year and over 500 fry
Currently 3 males in caves guarding them fiercly (the other male has taken a proper beating trying to nab a cave from the boss) 4 females all fit to pop and frantically trying to find a suiter. Soon to be 3 males fanning 150 - 200 eggs!
As one of my friends said "that tank is a hot bed of sexual activity, like Amsterdam" Fish [not suitable for children] - it'll never catch on (yet if your even slighlty interested in fish, if you come round my house I'll guarentee you'll be transfixed by the flapping of L333 tails

I would like some more caves, but can anybody tell me how I can stop the clown loaches using them to sleep in
Everytime I add another cave there is a battle between the plecos and the clown loaches and the clown loaches always win.
I have lost one clown loach because the pleco attempted to get in when he was in there and wedged himself half in.
Any ideas??

I know what you mean...
My parents have 2 clowns... and they moved into their bristle nose caves...
not for long though...
but its a different in our tank.. I've not had breeding caves in with clowns until recently.. we have 5 caves...
thankfully there is only one with clowns in..
it happens to be this one...

Lovely photo Smithrc, at least there is room for both of them
Your caves look quite roomy inside - looks like they would be large enough for other species of pleco. I could do with about five for two of the tanks as I currently have an L014 and an L199 sharing a cave which isn't ideal.
Are you likely to have some available in a few weeks?
