Right then - Not a lot of news at the moment - they are still in their cave with Dad.

There are 2 others sharing a cave too - which is nice :)

I figured that you might like to see how their setup looks now.
It might look planted but all the plants are on the wood leaving the bottom of the tank strewn with slate caves and crevices with the wood providing cover

There is a fluval 4+ on the left of the tank with a rotating outlet - and a 301 power head on the right facing forward.

The cave in the front left corner is where it all happened ;)

And now for a couple of great piccys of the loner...
'He' was 5 days old when these were taken.

nice tank set-up!!

so you are using the flo-rotating attatchments on the output? how are they liking that? i thought about using them but i figured since the zebras come from a river they would prefer a constant directional flow.

Congrats Smithrc. :D

Your reward for all the effort you've put in over the past year.

So you had a female after all, this has been the case for so many people myself included.

I hope the fry are doing well, keep up the good work. Nice looking setup you have there by the way.

Regards.

Firstly I'd like to say a BIG thankyou for all the kind comments.
I'm dead proud that I've finally managed to get them to spawn. I now know how elated all of you that have managed it fell.

To all those out there looking at this with envy like i used to do to so, many threads... you time will come and Its a great feeling :D

So back to the important bit... Progress and photos :)

Fry are looking nearly ready to come out...
This is the loner as of yesterday colouring up nicely...
11 days out of egg...

We added another zeb to the group today and had a tidy up in the tank...
Dad was a bit miffed and came out of his cave and went on a bit of a riot... It gave me a couple of mins to grab the camera and get a couple of shots in the cave...

Not brilliant but.... I see at least 10 fry :) - soon to be out too.
Dad moved back in after his mini bender - none came out.

See how many you can count people :)
I'll be pleased if half of them make it...

There is a fluval 4+ on the left of the tank with a rotating outlet - and a 301 power head on the right facing forward (with a foam pre filter).

Its a Tropiquarium 88 - 120L

I'm thinking about getting an external on there for ease... but the setup has worked..

Hi everybody :)

We had a little ceremony today (A happy one)

Last night I went to bed a t about 2:00 am and dad wasn't in his cave, oh no - he was in another...
A quick look revealed fewer fry in the cave than at last count... then I spotted a little on in the tank :)

This morning he was back in there but looking at the now free swimming it probably was just because its his cave, and no longer to protect the fry... so with a guest (AndyJ) we had a little fry releasing ceremony!

There were 10 still in the cave in the end - egg sack gone though.

there are now at least 11 little zebs in our tank :D
