Zebra's Shy?

I have 4 Zebra's, but I never see them, just sometimes a tail sticking out of a cave. Is this normal, or will they eventually overcome their shyness. I've only had them for about a month.

they are night scavengers but sometimes they will come out to play

They take time getting used to their surroundings, as well as being somewhat shy. Not sure how your tank is decorated, but if you give them several hiding spots they should move around. You might want to look in the tank setup forum to get ideas. Also, when setting up spots for them to hide, if you create a ledge (or other hidey spots) so the opening is toward the front, maybe they'll hang out there at times, letting you see them easily. But them taking their time is somewhat normal.
