Males tail being eaten

If it's about fish in general, or it's a little bit random, then this is the place to post it.

Males tail being eaten

Post by lrry93 »

I have a pair of Zebs that is supposed to be proven. There is plenty of hiding space in the tank wit driftwood and two caves. The male stays in the cave and only comes out to eat. I have noticed lately that his tail is being eaten in perfect half circles out of the tail. Does anyone know whats up with this?? What should I do seperate them?

That can happen when the female wants in the cave and the male isn't ready, also. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless the damage gets worse. It has nothing to do with them being a pair or not, IMO.
