Question about cohabitation

Post by marktman »

I moved two of the zebs to their own tank. A 20L with a penguin 170 and a 660 powerhead gravel bottom and slate cave. The female moved in about a week ago and has not moved out yet!! Anybody else had any similar experiences? I cannot see the back of the cave, so I have no idea if she has laid eggs or not. I am not about to disturb my first possible spawn by checking. Thanks for the advice in advance.

My "pair" of zebras that spawned when kept just by themselves in a 20 gallon tank took more than a month of cohabitating before they got serious about it. It's definitely a good sign. Don't panic. He'll be letting her out to eat and back in they go ;).
