my tanks
ive got 1 6'2'2 ive got 1 4'1'1 and 1 2'1'1 which would be better for breeding i have not got any yet im hoping to get some

Inwhich case the smaller tank would possibly be the best choice if your intending to stick with only 3.id probaly get 3 at the start
You'll also have the problem of a much more variable water parameters, which is why i suggested the 4ft. The larger the amount of water the more stable it will be...which I think is very important when it comes to breeding zebs.I would personally go with the 2'x1'x1'! Is easier to change temp, water current and adjust your TDS. Just make sure to keep your water at top notch! Can't really afford missing those water changes in smaller tanks!
