I'd say at 2.25 inches and even at 2.50 inches it is still too young to accurately sex them, however, males are always a bit easier to spot than females and sub-males.

From all my observations on this and other forums for the past 3 months since Astral has gotten into the buying and selling of Zebras... it seems wherever he goes.. drama follows.. why is that?

An upside down zebra is usually a bad sign... but I think that one is hanging onto some african root wood.

2 days ago I noticed my male and female were in the same cave. Today they are still in there but they dont seem to be doing anything. The male just lays at the back and the female in the front.

I use a timer in my tank setup. It is set to turn off my power head and filter for about 1 hour to stop the current flow as mine tank has high flow rate too. During that one hour, they know it is feeding time and put frozen food in (i.e. frozen brine shrimp, blood worm, diaphnia, baby brine, etc ...

There are definate risks to shipping fishes and especially with such small ones. It's common sense that their little bodies just do not handle the stress and fluctuations nearly as well as larger sized fishes. Which even more so would incline a shipper to take extra caution when preparing shipment ...

Those zebras may have died from either too much heat exposure from the heat packs which I highly doubt... or.. died from suffocation due to the lack of oxygen... but I would say more likely a combination of both, if not then definately from lack of dissolved oxygen. We should all know that with ...
