I think it could well be the lighting and/or camera settings. As you can see the white stripes are more prominent in the first few pictures compared to those in the last few. But then again, the difference between these pictures may be ascribed to the fish in it's habitat vs the little box ...

Some time ago I bought a second hand aquarium. It was, amongst others, occupied by this zebra. Now I'm wondering: is it male or female?
I hope you experts can help me, because it's really difficult to say.
