I personally would leave any eggs with the Dad until 1 or 2 days prior to free swimming, when they can be put into a fry brooder. Eggs taken away too early are more prone to fungus.

Your fish do look like McEves though yours appear to have more deeply forked caudals. In another post else where on this site, I stated that I believed that McEves fish looked like a L287 ...

What other fish have you got in there with them?
You could always put a tank divider or a fine plastic mesh as obtained at garden centres, to keep the other fish seperate.

The choice is yours. Granted that the babies are still alive but skinny. What does this tell you ? Are they eating enough or a varied enough diet ?.
Considering their cost and current scarcity , dont they deserve a little more than just Hikari Carnivore pellets.

In my view, it looks identical to L287,Aqualog , top left hand picture on Page 201. The forked tail is also identical.
My L333 do not have such a forked tail. I have posted pictures some time ago.
