Geez this is weird.

I had treated them at 8am this morning. (With the salt and Melafix) and I did about a 10% water change with my regular tap (as my RO water was not ready and I mix it with my tap in a garbage can.)

Went to bed because I'm a shift worker. Woke up around 4pm, pulled out the dead ...

Just got back from my holidays, gave everyone a water change, and today I noticed one tank is having a problem.

Not happy as one Zebra is dead.

Of 8, 1 is dead and about 3 left have a lesser degree of affliction.

The one that died had very ragged, split fins and a red, bloody body. Looks like it ...

Wow, doesn't it sound weird that someone is trying to buy a fish in the same place the fish comes from?

Kinda like having to buy gasoline from Saudi Arabia when we produce it right here....same price mind you.

Once you get your RO/tap mix in the tank down to about pH 7, it really can't go much lower than that unless you add chemical....whether acid, peat, etc. Watch your kH. Keep it between 80 - 110 or you may have a crash. Mix your RO/tap with acid in buckets till you know it's a pH of 6.5 or where ever ...

A lot depends on your location. Even if I wanted to part with some, they might not survive the trip. I know a person who tried to ship fish to the UK and they were seized at the border. Really don't know the reason. Good luck with your search.

Last night I had a "nightmare" that one of my Zebras died.

This morning I looked into one of my Zebra tanks and I saw my female with a huge burst of white, flaky stuff sticking out of her head...just behind the eyeball and about 1/4 ...

Oh, and the size of the Discus does not seem to bother my Zebras either. They act like they normally do. And at night, the Discus are like floating statues. I don't think the Zebras mind the big Discus floating around them.

I bought the book last month...not really a book, just photo-copied and put together. But it was good. Good if you need extra info on the Zebra. So yeah, I DO recommend it. Go for it!
