At last . Pier Website !

Although in its early stages Pier Aquatics have got a Website up .
Peter one of the guys has got the thing up and running.
There are not many fish pictures yet but he told me they will improve things soon . :oops:

Colour patterns in L134.

The fish are striped to start as they grow the stipes break up .
They are a great fish that is being collected in large numbers.

Peru Zebra Plecos ?

If the Peruvian exporters can get L46 why did we have to take some to them ?
I still have to see the Zebra plec come from Peru .
We took 10 youngsters to them ,Why if they can get them ?
He is one of the biggest in Iquitos ..He could not get them.?

Hi They were not available because they were originally described as being from Cuzco in the highlands of Peru .
They are in fact from near the Bolivian Border in Puerto Moldonado.
This area has only recently been looked at for ornamental fishes .
This is a really nice fish and coming a little ...

wild caught vs F1

I think that there is little difference in the 2 ..to look at..
The only problem I can see is that already people seem to be trying to buy groups of F1 FROM THE SAME PARENTAGE!!!
Dave from Liverpool is talking a lot of sense ..
F1 will not know the wild .Temperature,Lighting,Water parameters.
So is ...

Overfishing is the problem !

The fishermen are catching too many !
As I said before they get 15 times more than if they catch a gold nugget
These people have no gold minning any more , how do they get food and clothes .
When we left the fishermen wanted even our ruined clothes .
They are overfished ,so they travel farther to ...

Hi Buddy , I think these little fellows(L46) wont be shot for eating crops .
They are of no significance to the locals for anything except they get 15 times more per fish for them than any other fish with exeption of the black rays ,The dam is a few years away ?
The L46 can recover fairly quickly ...
