female trapped!

Post by Tariq »

i cant believe it,i am not sure which female is in there and which male they all look the same i do recognize the male but i am not sure when i bought him if he was number 3,4 or 5 i bought, and the female is i think the biggest i have not 100%sure yet, yesterday i was feeding them and changed some water RO mix,i was already trying to feed them a bit more except for the last 2 or 3 days i feed them less,if the female is trapped how much chance is there that there will be eggs?and is the first spawn always unfertile?should i leave them in if i do have eggs?and how many days on average can a male trap a female.
sorry for all these questions i'm a bit nervous i hope she stays in there till they spawn i did see her trying to get out but the male didnt let her leave,is this normal if i am right this is normal but i am not sure now any more.
all that i have read about the zebras and i forgot almost everything thats how nervous i am now.
gonna try to take some pictures.
thanks

GREAT JOB!!! :D
Was your water changed with just RO water??? Did you decrease the temp??
From what I read I think you should leave them alone and let them do what they need to do..
And don't go start putting that torch to see what there doing!! Adam will tell you more on that subject!!!
But others that have been successful with this will give you the advice you need shortly....Anyways Great work!!!!

this pic is not so clear but it shows both of them clearly in the first pic you only see a piece of the females tail i believe.
the second pic is just one that was in the open.

Congrats and exciting news tariq! :D

click the "img" button to get "["img"]"type http path to the picture" click on "img" buttom again to get: "["/img"]"

The "" shouldn'y be there ofcourse, just included those to show the tags :) But you can't link to an image hosted on some free services - looks like msn is one of those...

In answer to your question about first spawn being infertile. It often is, but not always!

thanks mceve i just turned the lights of and left them alone becuase the male looked a bit scared or isturbed i will try to make pics in daylight tomorow maybe they will be clearer then these ones.
i am sitting in a other room now but its difficult to resist the temptation to go and look again but its better that i dont becuase i would have to turn the light on again.ill see it tomorrow.
thanks i hope they are fertile
i figured the pic part thanks,
soon i will try to get all 8 zebras out when there is no spawning going to take pic so you guys maybe can help me sex them at the moment i think i have 3 or 4 females but i am not sure becuase one is pretty dominant.
    take care

Glad things are looking good tariq!

I believe you are the only one that can see the pictures though, as you're logged in to msn. The rest of us are not :D
