I think I may have got some L236 but the problem is Aqualog is confusing the hell out of me . Personally I think they are closer to L66/L287 as pictured in the Aqualog. What do you guys think?

That makes two of us Jerms, I picked up a copy of Aqualog recently thinking that it would help matters. I'm even more confused than before now. According to Aqualog they could be L66, L236 or L287 . However the supplier assured me that they were collected from the Rio Iriri which pretty much rules out L287 as they are collected from the Rio Do Para and possibly the Xingu according to Datz, Aqualog has them down as coming from the Rio Do Para only. L66 are collected from the Rio Tocatins and Xingu according to Aqualog but Datz has them down as coming from the Xingu(Belo Monte-Victoria). I'll get to the bottom of this if it kills me.
Please share when you do Adam! Just to confuse your issue a bit more, Here are the pictures of the fish I bought from a friend that originally purchased them as L173. They were collected at Altimira.
I have also sat down with my copy of the DATZ and Aqualog and given myself a brain ache over these. It's danged frustrating!

L173
Hi Barbie,
I have just managed to get some Hypancistrus labelled as L173 today. Dont know where they were collected from but will try and find out. They look a little similar to yours. Will try and get some photos as soon as they are settled.
Also managed to get some "dwarf" hypancistrus with vertical makings.Unidentified at the moment but possibly L129
Regards,
Des
Edited L128 to L129

Besides cool? I hope you got a pair or two! :p Those might be the fish they're referring to as the "gold" L333, but to be honest, I get a brain ache just thinking about this stuff now. Yann thinks the fish I bought as L173 are actually L287, also.
