Post by hamish99 »

ok fokes, im looking to buy a new camera to take some photo's of my zebs, "competitions" you got to be in it to win it, so i would like some advice on cameras around the £200 mark, if you have any photo's that you have taken with the camera that you've suggested post them too.

Sony DSC-P100 and P200 are sh*t hot cameras, i have both, takes even better pics than the ones ive shared before, there 5.1 and 7.1 megapixel and now can do video, pic bursts and all sorts.

Pic quality is amazing

The cameras Neo has mentioned are very good. My own is a Cannon 4 megapixel, the model escapes me. The main thing to look for is a camera that will let you manually focuss as well as auto focus.

Try this site they do some very good unbiased reviews and even provide shots taken by the camera being reviewed.

I use a Lumix FZ5 (12x optical zoom built in..not many dig's can do that at the moment) and it rocks....as stated on the site mentioend below.

review here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicfz5/

Sorry to inundate you with info but my recommendation for best review site is www.dpreview.com easily by far the best digital camera review stie out there(IMHO)... the do a breakdown of every camera they review including taking it apart and explaining the inner workings, plus a camera comparisons feature, sample pics etc etc.
If some of it's too technical for you, like it was for me as I still firmly stuck at amateur level then you can just skip it and go straight to the conclusion of each review.

Hope it helps. :D

Glad you like it. It's good to know I can do a little to repay all the help I've had off this site so far :D
