Our L129s are getting a bit more lively

I took this video a few weeks back - unfortunatly i grabbed the camera slightly late - the zeb on the right made a dive into the cave on the left but was pushed out... this then insued.

27.7mb AVI Video clip... sorry

Was it an attempt at trapping or are they fighting over a cave?

Looks like a territorial dispute(turf war) to me.

It's not all bad news though if you haven't noticed this behaviour in them before then I would say it's a good sign. Increased territorial behaviour amongst many fish can often be a sign of the desire to spawn.

we're lowering the conductivity at the moment.
We've been using tap water with the odd rain water change until now but we've just set up an RO unit :)

see the other post about lowering conductivity if you would be so kind :)

If you live in a built up area I really would advise against using rain water due to air borne pollutants contaminating the water. It's best to collect rain water only after it has been raining in excess of 20 minutes, I read somewhere once, it's clean then. The RO/tap water mix should be enough.

I'm heading right for your other post now, see you there in a bit.

we live right in the country to one side and then milton keynes on the other...

we've had no problems with the rain water - it was just an easier way to lower the TDS...

but we'got RO now :)
