Microworm and then flake with some tank water blended, has worked well for me in the past with various species

Sorry Neo - Didn't mean to sound patronising

I've never tried betta's but i was under the impression they had to be conditioned and they only breed when it rains and all sorts.

I have breed fighters too! i also was told they had to have a low pressure ( we not had to have my prefered) i had a beautiful opaque HM pair! like adams pic but after i had 2 spawns from them they started attacking each other couldn't understand it

what ive learned from them so far is simply get a male and female lol

no seriously....

Get a small tank one of those £7.99 plastic things, half fill it of water and let it reach room temp for at least 24hrs

Get a male and female, best to get a few actually and maybe a few tanks as we did, get the males settled in keep the female in a jar next to it that he can see, within 24hrs he should have built his bubble nest
put in a female and forget about them for another 12 - 24hrs, after this time u should see the male guarding eggs and the female getting chased away, this is where you take her out.... now 24 - 48hrs later you will have little fry that kinda drop down n fly up, the male will catch them in his mouth and put them back in the nest.

After 5 days when the fry are free swimming take out the male and feed the fry on microworm at least twice a day untill they are large enough for flake etc, another way to do it if you cant get microworm is to get some flake and some of the water from their tank and blend it untill its all liquid.

i bought my brother 4 pair, lost 2 females though and had to get new ones, its normal for the male to sometimes kill her and already we have 3 lots of fry 50+ each hatching

Also if the male is constantly attacking the female b4 they spawn get her out and after anotehr 24hrs try and replace her with another female

hope this helps
