L-66 Hypancistrus sp.

Hello!
Yesterday when i came att work i found nice surprise

My L-66 has spawned, male is in the cave and takes good care
I'm hoping that they have done everything right and i will get some youngsters.

Hi Arctic circle,
Congrats. Hope all goes well.
At the moment my Hypancistrus Inspector male is on the third attempt at trapping the female in a cave. Another male Zebra has also trapped a female.It looks as if this is the Hypancistrus breeding season !!!!!

Yes i'm going to take pictures tomorrow. Eggs are saved now, next time when they spawn i will left them with the male.

Just in case... when i was looking in the cave, that only one empty egg was top so i think that the male was eating eggs. Hope that you understand becouse my English is not good

Congrats AC and I hope all goes well with the eggs/fry.
I'm a bit curious as to what sort of stimulation if any was required for the L66 to spawn.
I have read that L66 fry are particularly susceptible to fluctuating water changes so you might want to keep things nice and stable in the tank.

By the way , Your L???? in your pictures is a L102 Hypancistrus Inspector, Similar to mine. There is a picture of my female Under Fishy Photos/L333.

eggs are now developed youngsters, and they are still L-66 not Hypancistrus inspector
Adam, i'm going to do carefully water changes every day and youngsters get artemia,zucchini and after that they get Dr'Bassleers biofishfood.
Parents have been our tapwater, Ph 7.5, Gh 8-10 and conductivity 450mS, temperature 30 C. Filtration is Eheim 2217, Eheim powerhead 1212 and one another pump 650 L/h, tank size is 125L.
